Baque Australis was lucky enough to play the amazing Island Vibe festival in October.

We had a great weekend at the festival on Stradbroke Island and dropped a mad carnival set in front of the main tent just before the main event of friday night.
Thank you to everyone who came and watched, everyone who danced, and the festival organisers for a great event.
See you again next year we hope!

Baque Australis will be joining Brisbane’s celebration of the world’s largest live and free music event, Fête de la Musique on Thursday, 21 June.

We will be performing at 4.00pm on the Kurilpa Bridge in central Brisbane -  see you there!!

Fête de la Musique, otherwise known as World Music Day, is a free live music celebration of the summer and winter solstice for northern and southern hemispheres held on 21 June ever year in around 450 cities across the globe. Fête de la Musique originally started in France in 1982.  These days it is celebrated with musicians or bands of any genre, amateur to professional, whether well-rehearsed or completely off the cuff, making music everywhere.

Fête de la Musique Brisbane is presented by Brisbane City Council in association with Alliance Française and Brisbane Marketing.

Now in its fifth year, the fete follows the international charter and principles of Fête de la Musique (http://fetedelamusique.culture.fr) where all musicians perform for free and all performances are free to attend. For full program information about artists, performance locations and other information relating to Fête de la Musique Brisbane, visit www.fetedelamusiquebrisbane.com.au or telephone Council on (07) 3403 8888.
