Fête de la Musique originally started in France in 1982. These days it is celebrated with musicians or bands of any genre, amateur to professional, whether well-rehearsed or completely off the cuff, making music everywhere.
Fête de la Musique Brisbane is presented by Brisbane City Council in association with Alliance Française and Brisbane Marketing.
Now in its fifth year, the fete follows the international charter and principles of Fête de la Musique (http://fetedelamusique.culture.fr) where all musicians perform for free and all performances are free to attend.
